At Schenk Packing we take a proactive approach to ensure our animals are treated humanly with the highest possible standards. We utilize techniques and programs from animal handling experts such as Dr. Temple Grandin.

• Employees who work with cattle are hand selected by senior plant management and are continually trained on animal handling techniques.
• All areas where cattle are held and moved are under video surveillance to ensure proper handling of animals.
• Cattle are given ample room to move, have clean bedding, are provided food and have access to clean water while at our facility.
• We perform weekly audits to ensure our programs and policies are being followed to the highest standards.
• We have an independent 3rd party auditor evaluate our programs annually.

These standards are second to none and, “Schenk Cattle” have a reputation for being of premium quality and our finished beef products are a reflection of our philosophy that “If we won’t eat it, we won’t buy it.”
